Wind Ensemble
The Millbrook HS Wind Ensemble is the top performing instrumental ensemble at MHS. Students perform in at least 5 concerts a year, including Millbrook's annual Veteran's Day program and District Concert Assessment each March. This band focuses on upper level repertoire and extends techniques developed in Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Middle School Band. Many students in this ensemble study privately. Also, many have been selected for membership in All-District and All-State Band, along with various festivals and honor bands throughout the area. Students are highly encouraged to participate in Solo and Ensemble Recital Night in the spring. Wind Ensemble meets on every other day for 90 minutes.
Placement in Wind Ensemble is based on auditions, which takes place in May. Students must audition to be considered for placement in Wind Ensemble.
Symphonic Band
The Millbrook HS Symphonic Band is the intermediate-level performing ensemble at MHS. Students perform in 3-4 concerts a year, including District Concert Assessment each March. This band focuses on intermediate to advanced level repertoire and extends techniques developed in Concert Band and middle school band. Students in this ensemble are recommended to study privately. Additionally, many have participated in All-District Band and are encouraged to audition for placement each year. Symphonic Band meets every other day for 90-minute rehearsals starting in August.

Concert Band
The Millbrook HS Concert Band is the beginning to intermediate-level performing ensemble at MHS. Students perform in 3-4 concerts a year, including District Concert Assessment each March. This band focuses on beginning to intermediate repertoire and extends techniques developed in middle school band. Students in this ensemble are recommended to study privately. Concert Band meets every other day for 90-minutes. Since the Concert Band wind and percussion sections meet separately, additional after-school rehearsals take place the week prior to concerts.
Placement in concert band is open to all students with previous instrumental music experience. Those wishing to join the band without having taken band previously will be admitted at the discretion of the band director and must show proficiency in essential music skills, such as literacy, prior to joining.
