I’m a Mililani-based artist and design consultant offering private and small-group art lessons (1–4 students) for youth, teens, and adults seeking focused, personalized creative guidance. Sessions are held in my private home studio drawing room in Mililani, or I’m happy to travel to your home for an additional travel fee.
I hold a BFA in Communications Design from Pratt Institute and have worked professionally as an exhibitions coordinator and designer for international art biennales and institutions, including the Honolulu Museum of Art School. My background bridges both fine art and design, giving students of all ages a strong foundation in visual thinking, discipline, and creative expression.
My sessions are ideal for young artists who are curious and motivated, as well as adults who want to deepen their skills or reconnect with their creative practice. Students receive individualized attention, thoughtful feedback, and an encouraging environment where they can build confidence and refine their abilities. Whether someone is just beginning to explore art, returning to it after time away, or preparing for serious art and design pathways, I provide encouragement, structure and support.
Creative Tracks
Strong foundations make everything else possible. In this focus area, we build the core skills that support all great visual work — observational drawing, composition, value, color, and mark-making. Students learn how to truly see what’s in front of them and translate it with clarity and confidence. Whether someone is brand new or looking to refine existing skills, this work strengthens both technique and artistic awareness.
In this area, we look at what genuinely inspires you — the themes, materials, artists, and ideas that spark curiosity — and begin shaping that into a visual language of your own. Students are encouraged to experiment, take risks, and follow their instincts while building confidence in their decisions. Over time, this process strengthens both individuality and consistency, allowing a personal voice to emerge naturally and authentically.
For teens applying to art or design programs, I offer focused portfolio mentorship. We refine technique, develop concept-driven projects, and build a cohesive body of work that reflects both skill and originality. Equal attention is given to presentation and storytelling so students can clearly communicate their ideas and point of view. The result is a portfolio that feels thoughtful, competitive, and authentically their own.
