The boys varsity soccer team was held goalless against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals in the first round of Central Coast Section (CCS) play, eventually losing 2-0 to the lower-seeded team.
The loss comes amidst an impressive season for the Scots, as they finished second in the Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) and received a No. 3 seed in the Division II CCS bracket. The Cardinals, suffering only one loss all season, went into Saturday night’s game with a No. 6 seed.
With the UEFA Champions League tournament inching further to its final on June 1 in Madrid, Spain, fans around the world are tuning into their screens to see how Europe’s most prestigious soccer tournament will play out.
“You always get to see teams play against each other in their own league, but you only really get to see how good a team is when they play against other European teams in the Champions League,” said freshman James Dimartino.
The boys varsity basketball team defeated rival Sequoia 50-37 in impressive fashion, Friday, Jan. 18.
In their first home quad game of the season, the Scots maintained their near-perfect record, showing many students and fans just how good they really are.
Playing against a rival school like Sequoia, it was important for the Scots to get the job done and put on a show in front of a packed house.
The boys varsity lacrosse team was unable to catch up against the high-scoring Serra Padres in a non-conference game on Saturday, April 13.
The match, which ended with a final score of 18-6, snapped Serra’s eight-game losing streak while simultaneously extending the Scots’ losing streak to seven.
The Carlmont JV baseball team handily defeated conference opponent Sacred Heart Prep in a five-inning bout on Wednesday, May 1.
The Scots took care of business on a sunny afternoon at Carlmont, maintaining their status at the top of the league. The Scots entered the game tied for first place with Burlingame and Cappuccino and got the job done against a weaker opponent in Sacred Heart.
The boys varsity soccer team suffered a close 1-0 loss to Aragon during senior night on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Despite their loss, the team still had a positive senior night as they advanced to CCS playoffs.
After three close sets, Carlmont’s girls JV volleyball team upset Burlingame on Thursday night, Oct. 18.
After suffering a disheartening loss to Woodside on Tuesday, Oct. 16, the Scots rallied to defeat a higher ranked Burlingame Panthers team in three nail-biting sets.
An overwhelming amount of freshmen came out on Monday, Oct. 29, to try out for the freshman and JV boys soccer teams.
Along with the freshmen, many sophomores and juniors also came out to compete for the limited spots on the JV team.
The girls varsity soccer team defeated the Hillsdale Knights with help from an early goal by Samantha Phan, a junior, on Monday, Dec. 3.
In only their fourth game of the season, the Scots lacked some chemistry in their attack but got the job done thanks to good defending and Hillsdale faults.
