Remodeling a home in Kill Devil Hills comes with unique challenges, including permitting rules that limit how much can be done at one time. We decided to prioritize the interior first so the house would be fully functional and comfortable as soon as possible.
As a result, the inside of the home is brand new, while the exterior—including the original cedar siding, decking, and windows—will be updated in the next phase of renovations. In the meantime, you may notice some quirks, like a few windows that don’t open and some uneven deck boards. While not perfect yet, we know these minor imperfections won’t take away from your experience. We’re excited to share our home with you and appreciate your understanding as we continue to make it even better!
The kids have big plans for their tiki bar on the ground level. In our first phase, we built the structure, covered the outside with bamboo and trim, and started the tile top. Another day or so of work and it will be complete!
