Milan Chakrabarty, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He currently leads GI-Excellence in Hemet, California, formerly the Hemet Endoscopy Center. His dedication to high-quality medical care has been constant throughout his career.
He is highly skilled in interventional endoscopy, focusing on preventing, diagnosing, and treating complex conditions such as Barrett's Esophagus, Biliary Disease, pancreatic cysts, gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastrointestinal cancers. His expertise is widely recognized, and his services are highly sought after by hospitals throughout the region.
He is the first G.I. specialist to establish a practice in Southern California's Inland Empire, an area encompassing San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. His practice, which he established over 43 years ago, is built on a foundation of compassionate patient care. The facility he oversees is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, providing a level of care that distinguishes it from other ambulatory surgical centers in the region.
His passion for medicine was evident from a young age. Born in Kolkata and raised in Mumbai, India, he comes from a family with a strong tradition in medicine. His father, grandfather, and three uncles were all family physicians, which inspired him to follow in their footsteps. As a child, he often assisted his father in his medical practice, while his mother played a vital role in his education by providing tutoring.
Milan Chakrabarty, MD, pursued his medical education at Grand Medical School College, Mumbai University, where he earned his M.B.B.S., equivalent to an M.D. He completed his medical internship at J.J. Group of Hospitals at Mumbai University. His residency training occurred at St. George Hospital in Mumbai, with additional subspecialty rotations at G.T. Hospital, Mumbai.
After completing his residency, he moved to England and continued his medical career in Internal Medicine at Mount Pleasant Hospital, Cardiff University in Swansea, South Wales, for three years.
Following his time in Swansea, South Wales, he relocated to the United States with his wife and two children. He served as a Resident Physician at the Metropolitan Jewish Medical Center in Coney Island, New York. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at St. Clare's Hospital & Health Center in Manhattan.
He then pursued a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In the early 1980s, Milan Chakrabarty, MD, moved to Hemet, California, where he established the G.I. Department at Hemet Valley Medical Center. 1982, he became Sun City, California's first hospice medical director.
In 1992, he founded the Hemet Endoscopy Center and the Hemacinto Medical Group the following year. In 2004, he built a new medical center with a state-of-the-art surgery center.
He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His contributions to the field include co-authoring a study titled "Determination of Circulating D.N.A. Levels in Patients with Benign or Malignant Gastrointestinal Disease, Cancer."
He has shared his expertise through seminars, including presentations at the Hemet Daze Community Health Education and Screening Fair on "Colon Cancer Awareness." He has also been a guest speaker at the Hemet Rotary Club, where he discussed bowel cancer and strategies for maintaining intestinal health.
Milan Chakrabarty, MD, has been married to his wife, Manjushree, for 52 years. They have three sons, two of whom are physicians. His eldest son is an Internist, and his second son, trained at Boston University and Lahey Clinic, practices in Temecula, California, as the only Advanced Interventional Gastroenterologist in the Inland Empire, California. He and his youngest son co-founded the wellness carbonated beverage "T.U.R.V.E.D.A.," a product based on Ayurvedic medicine designed to improve digestive health and boost immunity. The drink provides nearly 20% of the daily recommended fiber and does not contain the sugar and citric acid found in traditional sodas.

In addition to his professional pursuits, he enjoys cars and stamp collecting, photography, traveling, and boating. He has also recently taken up painting.
