Dr Pawel Mikulski

Group leader

Fascinated by chromatin regulation & epigenetics.  Alumnus of: University of Warsaw (Bsc, Msc), Multi-institutional European network EpiTRAITs (PhD), John Innes Centre & University of Oxford (Postdoc). Supporting people to discover mechanisms of transcriptional memory at immune response genes. Working to receive Best Boss mug (merit-based) ☕

MSc Cita Hanif Muhlihah

PhD student

Cita joined us from Indonesia, being trained in Pharmacy and Drug Innovation at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, University of Utrecht and University College London. Cita is our expert in microscopy and primary cells, investigating the phenotypes of transcriptional memory in cancer. She's equally proficient in making delicious Asian food and spreading kindness - ask for recipes (for both)! 🍜

Dr Marko Tomljanovic

Postdoctoral researcher

Marko comes from sunny Croatia. Pharmacist and PhD by training, Marko previously studied the Polycomb repression pathways in anticancer treatments at  Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb. Marko spearheads our efforts to understand transcriptional memory mechanisms on a protein level. He's go-to person when it comes to flow cytometry, biochemistry and proteomics. Carries a pair of sunglasses just in case the weather becomes Mediterranean 😎

MSc Dejan Rajkovski

PhD student

Dejan moved to us from Macedonia, passing by Catalonia. Dejan trained in Biological and Biomedical Sciences in Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.  Dejan puts his skill in gene expression assays and CRISPR to decipher regulatory modes of transcriptional memory. Avid hiker - will do Annapurna circuit solo for a story ⛰️

Dr Aleksandra Łopusińska (Ola)

Lab Manager / Research Associate

Ola graduated from Jagiellonian University, where she studied medical chemistry. Afterwards she did PhD and studied tRNA transcription at Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS in Warsaw. At LImEs lab she works on proteomic response to interferon gamma. As a lab manager, she helps with everyday organisational/administrative stuff. If Ola is not in the lab, you can find her on the mountain trail or wandering around Warsaw 🌳

MSc Victor Cornily

PhD student

Victor joined the lab after working as a Research Assistant at the University of Osnabrück in Germany. Originally from Poland and France, he studies how chromatin states are established, maintained, and inherited to regulate transcriptional memory. Outside the lab, he enjoys singing and learning languages 🎙️📚

MSc Ishani Sengupta

PhD student

Ishani joined the lab after working a year on splicing mechanism and yeast genetics in IMol PAS. Originally from India. After working on protein biochemistry in Master’s, followed by RNA biology, now working on chromatin biology and epigenetics makes it almost a full circle at LIMEs. Outside lab work she really enjoys music and mountains! 🎶

BSc Weronika Jarocka

Master's student

Weronika is a student of Biology at Warsaw University. She joined us for masters project to study transcriptional memory in various cell lines 🔬
