last week, I configured Mikrotik 5.18 with pppoe server and User Manager at a local cable.network environment, and its working great. User Manager is running great, he have now more then 350 customers database and its running OK, showing all the users, no information is missing.

I can confirm that the 5.18 ver user manager is working good.

Try rebuilding DB via userman maintenance menu. I have configured a script that runs twice a day, and it rebuilds DB, which results in updated information shown at the user status.

Integration of 3.3 with 5.18 is not possible IMO.

Also ver 3.30 UM have the bug of simultaneous usage of ppp users , means single ID can be used at multiple computers simultaneously.It was corrected after 4.17 version.

But still I must state that the USERMAN solution is not a reliable one, You cant rely on it on a large/production server. But after all its free package come along with the mikrotik, so dont expect much from it, IMO its suitable for SOHO.

bro i rebuild its DB but still not working, itz not showing user sessions in users profile, not more than 15-20 sessions which results in wrong usage report ?

and Admin dont have that budget to afford 3rd party UM cost as he dont have much users for this ? so i cant try until itz freeware ?

and ya bro, when i use webproxy, my cpu usage shoots to 100% . i changed my sys config, move to 1.8 GhZ, ram 512, but still unable to find solution for that. for now i disable proxy but i need it.. wat could be the possible issue ??? in ur proxy article u told that proxy needs more ram but my MKT use on 32 to 48MB of total ram and cpu usage is shooting on 100% :((

Any how I will not recommend you to use crack versions, mikrotik team do deserve that there product must be purchased, its a very good product, and comparatively very cheap, so go and buy the legitimate software.

I'm still using the first image kindly provided by adron and your work and this post encouraged me to compile my own rb5009 image, use your patches and have easy access to all the precompiled external packages available for openWRT. As this will be my first self-compiled openWRT, I read through the wrt devel docs, but there are two things I'm not sure about.

Do I need to compile a release version, say 22.03.4, to use all the precompiled packages that complement the openWRT distribution, or are there compiled snapshot packages available for the development builds of openWRT? My understanding is that I have to compile every required package with my build process for non release builds, due to possible incompatibilities between the master and release versions. Is this correct?

As I have seen, 22.03.4 is still kernel 5.10, so does this mean that the patch sets people have provided here for the master 5.15 builds are not applicable? Do I only apply the first patch from adron? I wonder if I will miss some features like sfp+ or 2.5G port working if I stick with the 22.03.4 release, kernel 5.10 and only adron's first patch for 22.03.

You're better off compiling a release version if you want package compatibility, but the 5.10 kernel used by 22.03 has a switch bug for our platform. So it's basically useless. I can provide you with a patch that adds kernel 5.15 on top of 22.03, though, if you'd like, but I switched to master with a 23.xx fork hopefully rather close. I'd recommend you do that as well. It might sound daunting, but unless security issues pop up (or showstopping bugs) there's no need to frequently upgrade, so you don't need to compile every week e.g.

You can grab the pile of patches for RB5009UG with 5.15 on 22.03 here. It comes as-is - like I said I switched to master on mine. If you are referring to kernel modules with 'modules', keep in mind only the ones from your build will work.

A master version prior to this commit will still work with the patch set linked on the wiki. I tried modifying the patches introduced in the commit above to apply cleanly on top of the QCA8081 backport that's part of the RB5009UG patchset, but that obviously does more harm than good. So it's back to the drawing board.

Well, with YAFUT this thing has some chance of being usable without having to replace the bootloader, however, we kind of need to figure out a way to pass a DTB as well.

And that is not easy since ARM64 does not support any kind of appended DTB tricks since the start it required the bootloader to pass it and the DTB that MikroTik uses is just so wrong that its unusable.

Again, easiest way is to revert that offending commit in your local tree, but that is of course no long-term solution. It's what I've done for now, I haven't found any obvious culprits yet, and since I have no serial I'm just grasping at straws.

Well, happy times. My digging bore fruit. This patch restores the relevant 5.18 at803x fiber patches to their original state - the ones in the offending commit were modified to apply to 5.15 cleanly, but those modifications in turn broke the RB5009UG support (which requires at803x modifications from 5.16 to add support for the QCA8081 2.5 Gbps NIC) in the process.

The license key is a block of symbols that needs to be copied from your mikrotik.com account, or from the email you received in, and then it can be pasted into the router. You can paste the key anywhere in the terminal, or by clicking "Paste key" in WinBox License menu. A reboot is required for the key to take effect.

Before the license purchase it is recommended to check if the software ID does not change on reboot. (Software ID may change on defective HDD, on HDD where RAID controllers are used but not properly configured etc.)

Level 2 was a transitional license from old legacy (pre 2.8) license format. These licenses are not available any more, if you have this kind of license, it will work, but to upgrade it - you will have to purchase a new license.

License levels described until now do not apply to Cloud Hosted Routers (CHRs). CHR is a RouterOS version intended for running as a virtual machine. It has its own 4 license levels as well as trial where you can test any of the paid license levels for 60 days.

Perpetual is a lifetime license (buy once, use forever). It is possible to transfer a perpetual license to another CHR instance. A running CHR instance will indicate the time when it has to access the account server to renew it's license. If the CHR instance will not be able to renew the license it will behave as if the trial period has ran out and will not allow an upgrade of RouterOS to a newer version.

After licensing a running trial system, you must manually run the /system license renew command from the CHR to make it active. Otherwise the system will not know you have licensed it in your account. If you do not do this before the system deadline time, the trial will end and you will have to do a complete fresh CHR installation, request a new trial and then license it with the license you had obtained.

You will have to have an account registered on MikroTik.com. Then you can request the desired license level for trial from your router that will assign your router ID to your account and enable a purchase of the license from your account. All the paid license equivalents are available for trial. A trial period is 60 days from the day of acquisition, after this time passes, your license menu will start to show "Limited upgrades", which means that RouterOS can no longer be upgraded.

Note that if you plan to purchase the selected license, you must do it before 60 days trial ends. If your trial has ended, and there are no purchases within 2 months, the device will no longer appear in your MikroTik account. You will have to make a new CHR installation to make a purchase within the required time frame.

Warning: If you plan to use multiple virtual systems of the same kind, it may be possible that the next machine has the same SystemID as the original one. This can happen on certain cloud providers, such as Linode. To avoid this, after your first boot, run the command "/system license generate-new-id" before you request a trial license. Note that this feature must be used only while CHR is running on free type of RouterOS license.
