Frequently Asked Questions
How do I track a meal?
Tap the green plus button on the Dashboard. You can type what you ate in plain language, take a photo of your food or select a photo from your library. Miko's AI will analyze it and provide a calorie and macro breakdown. Tap "Add" to save the entry.
Is Miko free to use?
Yes. Miko offers a free tier that includes 3 text entries, 1 camera entry and 1 photo library entry per day. Miko Premium unlocks unlimited tracking and all advanced features.
How do I upgrade to Miko Premium?
Go to Settings or tap any premium feature. You will see subscription options for Monthly ($9.99) or Annual ($99.99). Tap your preferred plan and confirm with your Apple ID.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find Miko and tap Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open Miko, go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases." This will restore your active subscription using your Apple ID.
How does the AI food recognition work?
When you enter a food description or take a photo, Miko sends only that food information to an AI service for analysis. Your personal details such as name, email and health data are never sent. The AI returns estimated calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat which are displayed in the app.
Can I edit or delete a food entry?
Yes. On the Dashboard, swipe left on any food entry to delete it. You can also tap on an entry to view its details.
Does Miko work with Apple Health?
Yes. During onboarding, Miko asks for permission to read steps, weight and active energy from Apple Health. This data is displayed on your Dashboard alongside your nutrition tracking. Miko does not write data to Apple Health.
How do I reset my onboarding or change my goals?
Go to Settings. You can edit your calorie and macro goals directly. To redo the full onboarding setup, tap "Reset Onboarding" in the About section.
How do I delete my account and data?
Go to Settings and tap "Delete Account and Data." This removes all your stored food entries, profile information and preferences from your device. This action cannot be undone.
Is my data private?
Yes. All your data is stored locally on your device. Miko does not have servers that store your personal information. We do not display ads, sell data or use third-party analytics. For full details, visit our Privacy Policy.
Troubleshooting
App not loading subscriptions
Make sure you have an active internet connection. Go to Settings, tap Restore Purchases and try again. If the issue persists, sign out of your Apple ID in the Settings app and sign back in.
AI not recognizing my food
Make sure your photo is well-lit and clearly shows the food. For text entries, try being more specific (for example, "grilled chicken breast 200g with rice" instead of "chicken and rice").
Apple Health data not showing
Go to the Health app on your iPhone, tap Sharing, find Miko and make sure all permissions are enabled. Then reopen Miko.
