I have independently taught 12 courses across introductory to advanced applied levels. These experiences strengthened my foundation in economic theory and informed my research. I have also advised student clubs and supported students’ academic and professional development both inside and outside the classroom.

Econ 510: Intermediate Macroeconomics
As a student I have always struggled with economics, however the professor for this course explains concepts very well and makes sure that we understand the material. When I am struggling, or another student is struggling in class, he notices and helps explain in a way that we can understand. I really appreciate him taking time outside of class to explain the topics as well.
Seugmin Yang is one of the best instructors that I have had during my time at K-State. He does a remarkable job at driving class engagement and is very understanding and empathetic to students.
Mike is a great teacher and really takes time to explain the material and wants to encourage students to learn more about economics and pursue it in the future.
Econ 530: Money and Banking
He was a wonderful instructor. The classes were very engaged, and he made the students feel like he was there for them. For the students who regularly showed up, he got to know them and what helped them learn the best. He also asked for feedback after each exam for ways that he could improve for the next one. Overall, he did a fabulous job teaching the class, and I would recommend him to anyone in the future."
Instructor Yang taught the material in this course effectively and in a way that felt approachable if there were ever any confusing pieces of information. At the beginning of each class, Instructor Yang would ask if we had anything we wanted to talk about from the news or from anything we'd heard about Money and Banking or economics as well as if we had anything we'd like to share about our professional development. I appreciate his efforts to engage with us as well as give us the information needed for the course, and he also added in several pieces of personal financial advice based on what he had studied and learned from personal experience. This course was very helpful, and my only issue during the semester was the two weeks we had to quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure in the classroom, which is just something that happens during a pandemic.
He obviously had an interest in what he was teaching, which made it easier to pay attention the entire class and actually learn. He was also interactive in a way that showed he cared about us being a part of the class.
Econ 120: Principles of Microeconomics
Mike is an amazing teacher who brings passion and joy to the classroom. I learned many new things and also made new friends. This was definitely my favorite class of the semester and I will be pursuing more economic classes over my college career. Mike was a professional teacher but also a friend.
Best professor I had all semester
Great guy and super dedicated to helping students learn, even if that is outside of class
