Played with Photoshop effects and learned the layout of the program, copying, cropping, text tools and adjustment/effects layers.
Learned how to edit black and white photos using adjustment layers such as brightness/contrast, exposure, levels and curves, and tools such as the burn and dodge tools for finer adjustments.
Learned how to use the selection tools such as the Rectangular and Elliptical Marquee tools and the Polygonal Lasso Tool. Also learned how to deselect with Ctrl+D. Paid attention to how the different elements of pictures could match up cohesively.
Based off the idiom "penny wise, pound foolish." Used the quick selection tool often, along with some experiments with the polygon lasso tool and the magnetic lasso tool. The object selection tool often takes a very long time to load so chose not to use it. Used a lot of masks to ensure that any details missed with quick select were easily editable.
Learned how to edit color in photos with adjustment layers such as Hue/Saturation, Color Balance, Vibrance and Selective Color. Used the sponge tool to edit specific parts of the photo to saturate the subject. Also continued to use selection tools to section off foreground from background.
Learned how to edit color in a photo to bring out one key color through the Black and White filter and editing the masks through erasing, brushes and selection tools. Also continued to learn how to edit color using filters and the various color-editing layers explained last POW.
Explored the different filters that can be applied to a picture within Photoshop, with varying results of focus-centering Field Blurs, blurring Color Halftones, High-Passes that seemed to turn the picture more purple, and a Poster Edges that sectioned off similar sections of color like an AI fill brush. My favorite is the High Pass because at low levels it gives off an interesting lightening effect on some areas.

Combined all the knowledge of different adjustment layers, layer styles, brush styles, color editing and dodge and blur effects toward the goal of creating a spooky aged photo. Continued to consider how these effects can convey mood through color and space.
Crafted a looping gif out of continuous high-shutter-speed shots that froze the action of the subject, then created an 8-frame animation using the timeline, importing the frames in sequence.
Learned how to use blurring effects to enhance the focus of an image and create specific effects like motion blur using smart filters. (Made other color edits to the photo because it's fun.)
