Research Assistant | Porous Media Research Group
January 2018 - Present | University of Nevada, Reno (UNR)
Constructing an advanced thermal management system for temperature control of electronic components. The overall objective of this project was to build a Loop Heat Pipe (LHP) system where the focus is on increasing the performance of the evaporator section of LHP. Currently, conducting Numerical analysis of all the relevant physics in porous media to design loop heat pipe Evaporator.
Developing a new two-phase and phase-change solver for porous media by including a thermal phase change model (evaporation and condensation), effective thermal conductivity model, temperature-dependent properties, and energy equation in the OpenFOAM architecture (C++ language) to conduct simulation for phase change and two-phase flow in porous media.
Model the experiment in SolidWorks and build the experiment to validate the OpenFOAM code.
Modeling different parts of the experiment in SolidWorks and manufacturing them in Manufacturing Lab where the porous media was 3D printed. Basically, we are building the whole loop heat pipe system where the main focus is in the evaporator section which holds the porous media.
Conduct Ansys Fluent simulations for permeability test, porosity test, and sealant test of the experiment.
Developing a Machine learning algorithm to train the data from simulation and experiment to predict the most accurate model for porous media (future work).
Presented the work on '4th TFEC in 2019', '5-6th TFEC in 2021' and on “NASA TFAWS in 2020”
Two journal paper on my work now is in pipeline.
