M Iffat Hasan, currently, performing his research in the porous media research group at the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) as a Ph.D. student. He joined the porous media research group as a master’s student in Spring 2018. Since then, he was working as both research and teaching assistant. Iffat completed his Master’s degree in the summer of 2020 Recently, Iffat has been admitted to the Ph.D. program starting from Fall 2020.
Before joining UNR, Iffat completed his Bachelor’s degree from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), the most prestigious and the number one university in Bangladesh. Iffat had to compete with the top 10% accomplished students to get this opportunity to study at BUET. In 2016, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering acquiring the basic knowledge to pursue higher studies.
After completing his BS, he joined Karnaphuli Paper Mills Ltd. as an intern. He also was collaborating with different faculties of BUET on different projects. At the same time, he entered Max Power Ltd. as a Trainee Engineer. He was an assistant engineer at Max Power Ltd. before he left to pursue higher studies.

• Skilled in CFD, FEA, CAD, CAE for 2D & 3D modeling, validation, test, product design, design analysis, etc.
• 7 years experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Matlab, Simulink, C, Microsoft Packages, 5 years in ANSYS, OpenFOAM, C++, Lammps, and 4 years in Python, LabVIEW, StarCCM+, Creo, CATIA, Ligggts.
• Collaborate with NASA to develop a two-phase and phase change solver and build an experiment to benchmark the solver.
• 1 year experience in maintenance, operation, and design of an entire power plant specifically pumps, turbine, boiler, heat exchangers, etc.
• BS & MS in Mechanical Engineering with advanced academic expertise in thermal & fluid sciences.
• Procfiient in heat transfer calculations, flow analysis, conversion calculations, hydraulic calculations, mass & energy balances, structural analysis, process design, root cause analysis, troubleshooting.
