Accent reduction, lyric diction, and phonetics teacher
I am a language learner, singer, and linguist who wants to make the field of phonetics practical, clear, and accessible to those who need it. I provide online tutoring and try to create a friendly and encouraging environment for my students to grow in their personal and professional lives.

I strongly believe that we learn best when we are not stressed or uncomfortable and that's why I go to so much trouble to call out the strengths I see in my students. Encouragement is crucial and I get genuinely excited when a student understands phonetics. As a classroom teacher, I loved to engage with my students there, but there's nothing like having a student who wants to learn so much that they are willing to seek out a private teacher. I enjoy coming up with new plans for what will work for each student. That was always one of the things I found most discouraging about classroom teaching. I knew I wasn't fully reaching every student, no matter how much I differentiated my instruction. But with private teaching, I get to see that "click'' that every teacher loves face-to-face. And without your parents berating me for your performance. No one will be disappointed in you here. The learning is in your hands.
I love to make my students feel more like we're peers than some other teachers I've had. I'll give you the resources and the tools to do it yourself; more students will come to fill the space when you don't need me anymore. I don't need to withhold information to keep you paying me. You'll be using my service mostly for my expert advice and my well-trained ear anyway.
I can be a little animated at times possibly as a result of my education as a performer. But don't worry, I won't lecture you. We'll work together.
Any good teacher is always growing and learning, as is my intention. So don't be afraid to tell me what you think will be most helpful for you or to ask me to learn more about something so that I can guide you through it. Being a good leader is taking everyone's needs and desires into account before making a final decision.
I'm really just a normal guy who happens to be so into phonetics that I just want everyone around me to know more about it. And that passion has grown into a career that I would like to last a lifetime. I hope to see you in a virtual classroom soon; I have so much to share with you!
