I am Miguel Bordallo López, Associate Professor of Vision Systems Engineering at the Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis (CMVS) at the University of Oulu. I am the leader of the Multimodal Sensing team, that focuses on using multiple cameras and radios in a coordinated manner in order to sense human activity and vital signs. I also work as Senior Scientist (AI) at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. I actively participate in two Academy of Finland Flagships, FCAI and 6G .

Recent News

September 2023 - I will act as the leader of the SRA3 (Distributed Intelligence) of the 6G Flagship.
We made a first attempt to devise the "6G System Architecture" as a service of services, and published at an ITU Journal . Read it here

February 2022 - I have been promoted to Associate Professor of Vision System's engineering under the Profi5-Hidyn program. In the new role, I will also act as the coordinator for the SRA3 (Distributed Intelligence) of the 6G Flagship.
November 2021 - Johanna Kallio, Senior Scientist at VTT and doctoral candidate at CMVS , graduated as Doctor of Science. Congratulations Johanna !
I gave a presentation at the 40th Anniversary of the CMVS about "What Cyberpunk 2077 teaches us about the future technology"
October, 2021 - We just celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the CMVS !!
Our Project , "MAALI: Multisensory automation for assisted living", with Prof. Olli Silvén, got funding as a Spearhead Project of the Infotech Oulu Institute.
