While applying for PhD positions, I published two book reviews on works I deeply admired. In one of them, I had the chance to interview the author—who would later become my PhD supervisor, Susana Monsó:
Borrajo Reinaldo, Miguel (2023). Review of Godfrey-Smith, Peter, Metazoos: La evolución de la vida y el nacimiento de la consciencia [Metazoans: The Evolution of Life and the Birth of Consciousness] (Joandomènec, Trad.), 2021. Barcelona: Shackleton Books. Revista de la Sociedad de Lógica, Metodología y Filosofía de la Ciencia en España, 67(1): 95–96. Available here.
Borrajo Reinaldo, Miguel (2021). Review of Monsó, Susana, La Zarigüeya de Schrödinger [Schrödinger’s Possum], Madrid, Plaza y Valdés. Contrastes: Revista Internacional de Filosofía, 27(1): 166–169. Available here.
I am currently working on a research article that explores the aims and implications of translating or decoding the communication systems of other species using artificial intelligence.
This piece is scheduled to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals around June or July this year.
