It's the background music played during one of the training dogfight scenes in Top Gun. I have seriously looked EVERYWHERE for Dogfight #3 (that's the name of the track ,but it's mostly an instrumental version of mighty wings) but I can't find it. I want it so badly. Does anyone know where I can find it?

WARNING: This my first time commenting on fast food. I searched for a site like this precisely because I needed to warn the public about these new bone-in wings. It was an impulse buy but never again! Horrible ! No meat, no taste, all fat and gristle, most of which I removed from my mouth before ingesting. Not to mention the price! How can they get away with this sham?? Bring back Chicken Selects!!

Tried these wings and they are awesome!

My batch of 3 were hot, crispy and boy were they spicy!

Love the crunch and the spice that still lingered after I ate.

Yes, $1 each is too much, but its one of those once in a while things.

My son raved about these wings yesterday. He said that they were dee-licious and that he would totally buy them again. However once I pointed out that he actually paid $3 for 1 1/2 wing, he had second thoughts. These are wingettes. Not whole wings. The price point is way too high for me to consider purchasing them. EVER.

Mighty Wings were a McDonald's menu item from 1990 through 2004, and then again in 2013 before ending in early 2014. Mighty Wings are juicy, bone-in chicken wings in a bold, spicy breading. Available in three, five and 10-piece with your choice of tasty dipping sauces, just like Chicken McNuggets. After sluggish sales in the initial months, McDonald's had dropped the price to unload their surplus of frozen wing sections. These are not to be confused with McWings, which are a similar chicken wing item found in McDonald's internationally.

Despite being smaller wings, a little dry and the price valve being a dollar a piece (the boxes come in 3, 5, & 10 pieces), they are good and do have a nice spicy kick to them. Depending of your hunger level they can be a quick snack or a full on meal. I see nothing but happy and fatter chicken lovers in the near-by future thanks to McDonalds and the Mighty Wings.

I think what and did on "might wings", and what was common with movie themes is that they took apart of the main score from the film, done by Faltermeyer, and Mark Spiro just wrote around one of the riffs/parts. So it does serve as one of the movies main themes as the instrumental is heard throughout the movie in places (from what I remember). Astonishingly theres no official score to the movie.

McDonald's has a slight inventory dilemma on its hands. A 10 million pound inventory dilemma. McDonald's Mighty Wings, which were released nationwide this September, turned out to be a major flop, and now the fast food chain has huge stockpile of frozen wings it needs to get rid of, the Wall Street Journal reports.

After purchasing 50 million pounds of the bone-in chicken wings, McDonald's didn't to sell enough of its limited-time product. Now it is stuck with about 20 percent of the original inventory. What went wrong?

The wings were too expensive. At more than $1 per wing for orders under 10 wings, the price "was not the most competitive," Don Thompson, McDonald's chief executive, told Bloomberg Businessweek. Three wings were sold for $3.69, five for $5.59 and 10 for $9.69.

After tepid sales during a promotion late last year left the company with what The Wall Street Journal reported was 10 million pounds of unsold wings, the restaurant operator is back with a pricing cut that's meant to remove the excess.

Chicken vs. beef

The gamble on wings was justifiable. Americans have been trading out of beef and into chicken for years as tastes changed, household budgets demanded it and the idea of white meat being better for you caught on. Chicken has grown as a menu item at McDonald's, Burger King (BKW), Wendy's (WEN) and a host of non-fast-food chains. Wings themselves have surged in popularity, with Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) and Wingstop expanding their bases. At the same time, they've become a staple on tavern menus, as well as at Pizza Hut and Domino's (DPZ).

The key problem for Ronald and friends, more than anything, was price. No doubt it still will be too high for some segment of consumers. As the site Burger Business reported, franchise owners were irked about the wings from fairly early on. McDonald's has been struggling for months to figure out how to price its items correctly in order to keep store traffic and revenue rising. In the process, it got to a point where its menu became too cumbersome to manage.

I tried some of McDonald's Mighty Wings. They were pretty good -- they seemed pretty big compared to the usual chicken wings, and the breading was nice and crispy. They had 3-piece and 5-piece chicken wings, and I was amazed that 3 pieces were pretty filling for me. They were a little bit spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy, and they weren't overly salty, either.

(Toledo News Now) - Many people think the new 'Mighty Wings' at McDonald's are just a new version of the chicken McNuggets, so John Matarese put them to the test to find out if the new wings were a waste of money.

Until now, if someone mentioned McDonald's and barbecue, most people would only think of the McRib sandwich. The new Mighty Wings have arrived just in time for football season, but are they anything like real buffalo wings?

The fast food franchise purchased 50 million pounds of their limited-time-only Mighty Wings to sell to consumers, but they sold less than expected, so now they have 20 percent of the original inventory leftover. Basically, ole Ronald McDonald is stuck with 10 million pounds of frozen Mighty Wings. And they need to get rid of them. Because we're givers, we're offering up some ideas on what McDonald's can do to take all them damn wings off their hands:

1. Eat Them: How many people does McDonald's employ, from fry cooks to executives? Probably a lot. Well, divide up the wings amongst everyone who represents the golden arches and give them out as Christmas bonuses. Who needs money when you can have fast food wings?

quicklist: 1title: McDonald's 'Mighty Wings' Coming Soontext: Watch out KFC and Popeyes because McDonald's wings are entering the world of fast food so competition will be heating up.

The food giant plans to begin rolling out the \"Mighty Wings\" on Sept. 9 and have them in all U.S. stores by Sept. 24, according to Bloomberg. The bone-in chicken wings are expected to stay in stores through November.

The wings will be flavored with chili pepper and cayenne, Bloomberg reports, and will come with a variety of sauces. They will be sold in packs of three, five or 10 pieces with prices starting at $2.99.

Back in September, fast-food giant McDonald's (MCD 0.23%) began selling bone-in chicken wings as part of a limited-time promotion, putting the company in direct competition with Yum! Brands' (YUM 0.11%) KFC and Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD). The company bought 50 million pounds of chicken wings, planning to sell them for a dollar a pop under the moniker of "Mighty Wings."

When this promotion was first announced, I wrote an article that predicted that Mighty Wings would be a flop, with the high price being the biggest issue for consumers. It turns out that I was right, and now McDonald's is stuck with 10 million pounds of unsold chicken wings.

What went wrong?

In the Wall Street Journal article that reported the unsold wings, an anonymous franchisee is quoted as saying: "Mighty Wings are proving once again that we can't sell premium items in large numbers because we still have the Dollar Menu."

This statement says a number of things about the current state of McDonald's. First, McDonald's is simply not a premium brand, however hard the company may try. McDonald's has grown to its current size not because of quality but because of value. At the same restaurant that sells double cheeseburgers for a dollar, premium chicken wings don't work.

Mighty Wings were essentially KFC quality at Buffalo Wild Wing prices, and that's a combination that cannot succeed. At $2.99 for three wings, McDonald's priced Mighty Wings well above the competition. Five hot wings at KFC cost $3.99, or $0.80 per wing, compared to $1 per wing at McDonald's.

The comparison gets even worse for McDonald's when restaurants like Wingstop are considered. The 600-location chain that specializes in wings sells 10 wings for $6.99, or about $0.70 per wing, with the price per wing declining with volume. It baffles me that McDonald's expected to be able to compete with its price so far above that of the competition.

McDonald's Mighty Wings were priced similarly to Buffalo Wild Wings, a pretty serious misstep given the quality gap between the two companies' food. The poor results were predictable, much like they would be if McDonald's attempted to sell an $8 cheeseburger. Fast-food quality at premium prices just doesn't work. Buffalo Wild Wings provides an experience, with sports playing on a myriad of TVs and plenty of beer to go along with the wings. McDonald's offers none of this, only mimicking the price.

He also is apparently no stranger to chicken wings, and he demonstrated his enthusiasm for them at this press conference that officially launches the wings, which will be available through October, or while supplies last, for $2.99 for three pieces, $4.79 for five pieces and $8.99 for 10 pieces, although of course prices may vary by location blah blah blah [insert required disclaimers typical for any franchise organization here]. e24fc04721
