Focus Study App (the “App”) is a social media blocking and focus app operated by David Miedzybrodzki (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the App, our website, and any related services.
The App is designed to help you block distracting apps and websites, complete focus sessions, and optionally prove completion of a task before unlocking blocked apps.
We aim to collect only the information needed to run the App, improve reliability, prevent abuse, provide support, and understand how users discover the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
We do not read your messages, social media content, posts, feeds, searches, likes, comments, or activity inside blocked apps.
We do not upload your Screen Time usage data, selected blocked apps, or Device Activity reports to our servers unless this Privacy Policy is updated to say otherwise.
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following information.
If you create an account, we may collect:
Name or username
Email address
Login information
Subscription status
Account settings
If you use Sign in with Apple or another third-party login provider, we receive only the information that provider shares with us.
During onboarding, you may provide information such as:
First name
Study goal
Biggest distraction
Your answer to “Where did you hear about us?”
Whether you completed onboarding steps
We use this information to personalise the App and understand how users discover the App.
Your answer to “Where did you hear about us?” may be sent to our servers or cloud storage so we can understand which marketing channels are working. We may also collect basic technical metadata with this answer, such as app version, build number, and submission time.
We do not use this answer for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
We may process information such as:
Apps or websites you choose to block
Focus session duration
Blocking schedules
Completion status
Streaks, goals, and app settings
Where possible, this information is stored locally on your device. Some settings may be stored on our servers if needed to sync your account, restore your settings, or support paid features.
The App may use Apple’s Screen Time, Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks to let you select and block apps or websites.
These Apple frameworks may allow the App to display information such as how much time you spent on selected apps or categories. Where used, this information is processed on-device or through Apple’s privacy-preserving Screen Time framework.
We do not receive the content of your activity inside blocked apps. For example, we do not see your messages, posts, feeds, searches, likes, comments, or browsing content inside those apps.
We do not upload detailed Screen Time usage, Device Activity reports, or selected blocked apps to our servers unless this Privacy Policy is updated to say otherwise.
If the App includes task or study verification, you may choose to upload evidence such as:
A photo or screenshot
Text entered by you
Metadata related to the upload, such as time submitted
AI verification result, such as pass/fail or confidence score
We use this information to decide whether the unlock condition has been met, prevent abuse, and improve the reliability of the feature.
We do not use your verification uploads to train our own AI models.
If we use a third-party AI provider, your upload may be processed by that provider only to provide the verification service, subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
If you purchase a subscription or in-app purchase, payment is handled by Apple.
We may receive limited information from Apple, such as:
Subscription status
Product purchased
Renewal or cancellation status
Transaction identifiers
We do not receive your full payment card details.
We use Superwall, provided by Nest 22, Inc., to display subscription paywalls, process and manage subscription-related functionality, run pricing and paywall experiments, and measure the performance of those paywalls.
Superwall may process information such as:
An anonymous app-user identifier
Device vendor identifier
Subscription status, product purchased and transaction information
Paywall views, selections and purchase interactions
App version, build number and installation date
Device model, operating system, language, locale and timezone
Network and technical information
Approximate location derived from the device’s IP address, such as country, region or city
We use this information to provide subscription functionality, determine which paywall or pricing variation to display, measure subscription conversion and revenue, prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems and improve the App.
Superwall processes this information as a service provider on our behalf. We do not use Superwall data for third-party advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.
You can read Superwall’s privacy policy on its website.
We may collect limited technical information, including:
Device model
Operating system version

This helps us fix bugs, improve performance, and understand whether the App is working properly.
