The individuals listed below were chosen to be the first cohort of master trainers for the North Dakota MIECHV Innovation Grant. This multidisciplinary, multi-sector team has been trained on NEAR (neuroscience, epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences, resilience) science, trauma informed practices, and the Self-Healing Community Model (SHCM).
Trainers partner to provide community trainings, with the intention to increase knowledge and awareness of NEAR science, trauma-informed care principles, and historical trauma.

"I coordinate the Treatment Collaborative for Traumatized Youth (TCTY) at the Neuropsychiatric Research Institute in Fargo, ND. TCTY trains clinicians throughout North Dakota in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is a model of psychotherapy that combines trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral therapy. Children and parents are provided knowledge and skills related to processing the trauma; managing distressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; and enhancing safety, parenting skills, and family communication."

As the smallest agency within the Capitol, my role requires me to wear many hats, but in particular, I am assigned duties relating to our Tribal judicial systems, in particular, issues relating to both juvenile justice and child welfare. In my role, I am continually looking to improve our systems of care and public safety within each of our Tribal Nations. Prior to this role, I served as the Coordinated Services Facilitator for the Ho-Chunk Nation Department of Social Services, where I spear-headed a wrap-around approach for children who qualified for the program based on physical, educational, or emotional incapacities. Before this work, I served as a Staff Attorney for both the Ho-Chunk Nation and my own tribe, MHA Nation, where I served as Legal representation for MHA Nation's Children and Family Services."
