Welcome to

Mid Sussex Cyclists

Looking for a ride at a leisurely pace with the companionship of a group of friendly people as well as a modicum of exercise ... then try Mid Sussex Cyclists

There is typically a full day ride on the first Sunday of every month, along with a shorter weekday ride in the middle of the month weather permitting.

Rides vary in distance from 25 miles to 40 miles plus, making the most of the many quiet country lanes  and byways that Sussex is blessed with.

The pace is a leisurely 10 m.p.h.  to best take in the countryside and allow for a friendly natter on the way.

Lunch is enjoyed at a public house, for about an hour and a half.

The usual start point is by the bike racks outside Burgess Hill Post Office opposite St John's Church  (map ref TQ 312 191)

So come along and give us a try -  Cheers!

At any time of year, riders should bring waterproofs, lock, puncture repair outfit and spare inner tubes, and mid-morning refreshment  plus lights just in case of poor visibility or delayed return in winter months.
Note that for insurance purposes the ride is not a group ride and members should best have their own liability insurance of the sort provided by Cycling UK (CTC).  Also we cannot accept riders under 16 years of age unless accompanied by an adult.
Riders are welcome to ride out only part of the day, say to mid morning break or perhaps to lunch, to then find your own way back.If using the train as a get-out option for the return,  take care of course to check beforehand that suitable services near the route are running (especially at weekends)!
As a minimum riders should be competent and capable enough with a fully roadworthy bike to undertake the intended distance, along with their own means and familiarity to fix at least a puncture.
