Midhun T Augustine

About me:  I am currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Process Control Laboratory within the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta. Prior to this, I held the position of Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay from March 2023 to March 2025, where I was affiliated with the Automation Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering. During this period, my research focused on machine learning-based process monitoring and deep learning-based system identification.

I obtained my Ph.D. in 2023 from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where my doctoral research was dedicated to the design and analysis of stabilizing model predictive control schemes for switched systems. I earned my M.Tech in Control Systems from the College of Engineering Trivandrum in 2017, and my B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Government College of Engineering Kannur in 2015.

My research interests lie in the areas of control systems, model predictive control, electrical engineering, process engineering, applied mathematics, and data science. Additional information about my research and academic contributions, including lectures, can be accessed via the following links:
