The Noyce Program will host a Peak Performance Youth Camp on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, for 4th–8th graders. Participants will explore strategies to boost physical and mental performance through hands-on activities, expert talks, and personalized coaching. Open to the public—register today!

Veronica Arredondo, DNP, RN
Veronica Arredondo, DNP, RN is a Nursing Professor at Sul Ross State University with over 15 years of experience as a registered nurse. She earned her ADN from Odessa College, BSN from Angelo State University, MSN from Grand Canyon University, and DNP from Arkansas State University. As a nurse educator, Dr. Arredondo is passionate about supporting nursing students throughout their academic journey. Her professional interests include first-generation nursing student support, active learning strategies, clinical skill development, and promoting academic confidence and success among rural students and underrepresented groups. She is dedicated to helping students succeed through hands-on learning and strong mentorship. Outside of teaching, Dr. Arredondo enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and watching movies.
Mary Schwartze Grisham
Mary is passionate about Wellness! She works as a licensed counselor providing mental health support to our SR community since 2014. Mary is the mother of three children who all graduated from Aline High School. She will be talking to the campers about The Four Pillars of Health: movement, nutrition, sleep, and reducing stress. Walking 2.2 miles per day is one of Mary’s personal wellness goals so you may see her on occasion walking the loop with her dog Jack.
Jawanna Sanderson, CPA
Jawanna Sanderson, CPA attended Sam Houston State University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting, as well as a Master’s of Science in Accounting. Ms. Sanderson began her career in tax preparation and tax compliance at UHY, LLP and BDO, in Houston, Texas. Ms. Sanderson expanded and continued her career at a regional public accounting firm in Central Texas, where she continued serving clients from a wide variety of industries in several areas of accounting to include tax compliance, business consulting, and general accounting services. While growing her career, Jawanna was designated a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by the State of Texas.
In 2022, Ms. Sanderson joined the faculty at Sul Ross State University to impart knowledge on a new generation of potential future accountants, managers, and entrepreneurs. She serves as the Faculty Advisor for Delta Mu Delta, strives to help with recruitment and retention efforts, and is involved in initiatives to connect with students. In addition, Ms. Sanderson sits on multiple community non-profit organizations as their treasurer, dispensing financial advice, and helping in other ways. Ms. Sanderson also volunteers her time with other non-profits and community oriented initiatives.
