The town Firehouse Building Committee has received proposals to solve the deficiencies presented. These proposals provide the following:
Adequate space and technology to provide effective service for the next 50 years.
Proper room for vehicles and personnel, limiting potential injuries and increase response times.
Minimize exposure to cancer causing contaminates with proper facilities and containment strategies.
Having appropriate living quarters for a divers workforce to be utilized by multiple town agencies.
Updated and energy efficient electrical and mechanical systems.
A fire suppression system.
Full emergency operations center (EOC)
Fully compliant emergency exhaust system with carbon monoxide and nitrogen monoxide detection.
New emergency generator to support the building systems.
New central air condition for temperature control for community amenities.
This proposal will include an addition of apparatus bays and connecting areas with a renovation of the current firehouse building. A peaked roof and a flat roof concept are depicted below.
