Energy Crisis 

• In 1973, the Arab world lauched a war on Israel on the highest Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur.

• The United States, as is their pattern, supported Israel and the Arabs lost the war.

• As a result of losing the war, the Arab nations cut back their provisions of oil to the U.S.

• As a result, Americans entered an Energy Crisis that lasted several years.
