Kristin A. Caughman is the choir director and artist in residence at Mid-Carolina High School. A proud native of Newberry County, Miss Caughman received her education in Prosperity-based schools and graduated from Mid-Carolina High School in 2000. She pursued her passion for music by earning a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Newberry College in 2004, followed by a Master of Music Education Degree from the University of South Carolina in 2006. Currently, Miss Caughman is pursuing her second Master's Degree at Lander University and is expected to graduate in May 2024.
As a highly qualified and certified music educator in the state of South Carolina, Miss Caughman has directed choral and instrumental ensembles spanning from elementary to 12th grade. She has led her ensembles to participate in various festivals and individual and group adjudications across North and South Carolina, consistently achieving Superior and Excellent Ratings at different levels. Miss Caughman is dedicated to her role as director of choirs, and she is determined to continuously elevate the standard of excellence within the music department at Mid-Carolina High School.
