Design Challenge

Challenge: Create a solution (i.e. build a prototype) to solve an actual problem you or your team have. The problem you'd like to address might be one from work or home life.
Work Group: You decide if you want to work solo or in a group. The group can be any size but everyone must be engaged in the build.
Time Allotment: 75 minutes.
Building / Prototyping Supplies: The facilitator will point out the supplies available to you.
Required Sketch of Your Idea: Before you start building you must sketch your idea out on paper and discuss it with your team. You are more likely to have success when you invest wisely in the planning phase.

Design Challenge Options

Option 1: Create a creature from the animal kingdom reimagined with a 21st century twist

Option 2: Create a collaborative interactive project using at least four Micro:bits

Option 3: Design a remix to one of these projects

Step 1: Imagine

What topic do you want to focus on? Begin to thinkg of some possible ideas that you could create.

Sketch out your plans and share before you begin building

Step 2: Create

Once your sketch has been approved, then begin to create. Start making and coding. Bring your ideas to life!

Step 3: Play

This stage is where you will go back to step 2 and return to this step. Play with your ideas and creation. See what works and what does not work. Make the necessary adjustments to create the best prototype that you can!

Step 4: Share

This will be done in the Deploy or Die stage. Until we reach that point feel free to strike up conversations with others to gain perspective and new ideas.

Step 5: Reflect

This will be covered at the very end of the workshop. The only reflecting you need right now is in your head and with your partner to make your prototype better.
