First Steps With The micro:bit

"First Steps With The micro:bit" is a scheme of work complete with background notes, lesson plans and teaching resources.

It was created to raise awareness of the micro:bit and its phenomenal potential as a cheap and easy to use device for teaching STE(A)M subjects and so much more across the wider primary curriculum.

The scheme has primarily been designed as a short teacher training course on the micro:bit but to make it more engaging and to exemplify teaching with the micro:bit it is based on ten practical lessons and two assessment lessons which teachers can use with the children they teach.

'Every child should have the opportunity to learn computing. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, children will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. '
