You are being asked to participate in a research study of Michigan Clinical Nurse Specialist lived experiences and role implications during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your participation in the first part of the study, the online survey will take less than 15 min. And then if you choose to take part in the telephone or Zoom interview portion of the study that will take you approximately 30-45 minutes.

You will not directly benefit from your participation in this study. However, your participation in this study may provide a forum for the Michigan CNSs to share and express their experiences during the pandemic. Better understanding of their experiences can serve as a starting point for design of meaningful intervention related to policy changes, better utilization of CNSs in health systems, and improving CNSs' professional quality of life.
The purpose of this research study is to analyze the relationship between individual and institutional factors and the complex, and often misunderstood, role of the clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in Michigan before and during the 2020 pandemic. In addition, the study aims to explore the lived experiences related to the personal and professional impact that COVID-19 has had on frontline CNSs in Michigan.
CNSs from Michigan will be asked to complete a questionnaire through Qualtrics and some of the CNSs will be asked if they would like to participate in an interview completed over the phone or Zoom.
Your participation is voluntary. You can skip any question you do not wish to answer or withdraw at any time.
