* The original version of "This Story Eats" was published in February 2026 in New Session's Issue 4: Upheavals. Each work featured in this issue will undergo one or more permanent "upheavals," triggered by predetermined conditions. "This Story Eats" undergoes an upheaval each time the US Supreme Court rules on a Second Amendment case. With each change, the story is "eaten" until, at last, its original plot is unrecognizable.
