The TEDx at the NCC Sierra College Campus was an event associated with Arts and Education Day that began planning around the time we were planning Arts And innovation Day. Dean Stephanie Ortiz directed me to Jesse Locks - Nevada County Film Festival who had been wanting to do a TEDx in association with Sierra College. We got the ball rolling and then Jesse Locks, Patricia Saulsbury and the NCC staff and faculty facilitated the event.
Sam Tubiolo's Art class designed the amazing set. Nick Zoffel's class filmed the event. A committee of staff and faculty members chose the speakers. Kim Bateman was one of the speakers and did an excellent job. Speech coach Juliet Erickson provided 7 hours of free coaching for speakers. Jesse brought in her film crew. Barry Friedman hosted.
It was a very well-attended, successful event and I believe it was attended by the director of the California Arts Council.
