If you want a heavy-duty, all-weather liner system specifically engineered for the 2020–2025 Tesla Model Y with a focus on liquid diversion and laser-precision contouring, choose MICHELIN Vehicle Mat; if you need a comprehensive 12-piece protection suite including sunshades and trunk guards designed strictly for the new Juniper Model Y 2026–2027, choose SUPER LINER 12PCS. This decision isn't about which brand is more famous, but about whether your vehicle is the current generation or the upcoming redesign, and whether you require just floor coverage or a full-cabin defense strategy. I have analyzed the specifications of both systems to help you cut through the noise and find the exact fit for your specific Tesla configuration without guessing.
• MICHELIN Vehicle Mat: Its biggest strength is the blue laser scanning technology that maps contours with extreme precision for the 2020–2025 Model Y, offering superior liquid diversion channels inspired by tire treads. The trade-off is that it is a smaller, 3-piece set that does not include cargo, frunk, or sunshade protection, and it explicitly excludes the newer Juniper models. This pick is for owners of pre-Juniper Teslas who prioritize pedal safety and deep fluid trapping over total cabin coverage.
• SUPER LINER 12PCS: Its biggest strength is the massive scope of the kit, covering floors, cargo, frunk, door sills, and seat backs plus a unique graphene sunshade set for the 2026+ Juniper Model Y. The trade-off is that it is incompatible with standard or older Model Y generations, requiring the specific Juniper interior geometry. This pick is for early adopters of the 2026 redesign who want a "set-it-and-forget-it" solution that protects every surface from UV rays and mud.
The MICHELIN Vehicle Mat is built for the driver who treats their 2020–2025 Tesla Model Y as a workhorse that sees real weather. The design philosophy here centers on safety and containment rather than sheer volume of parts. The manufacturer utilizes blue laser scanning technology to map the vehicle's interior, claiming a measurement precision ten times higher than standard red laser scanning. This isn't just marketing fluff; it translates to mats that hug the contours of the floorboards so tightly that they don't interfere with brake or accelerator pedals. If you drive in areas with heavy snow, slush, or muddy roads, the liquid management system is the critical feature. Inspired by Michelin tire tread patterns, these mats channel water away from the footwell and toward raised 360-degree walls. This prevents liquids from spilling over onto your carpet during hard stops or sharp turns, keeping your pedal grip consistent and your electronics safe from moisture intrusion.
Material durability is another cornerstone of this product. Constructed from premium high-density TPE, the mats are engineered to withstand the kind of heavy foot traffic that would degrade lesser materials. They resist deformation over time, meaning they won't curl up or lose their shape after months of use. Furthermore, they perform reliably in hot weather without emitting harsh odors, a common complaint with cheaper rubber alternatives. The installation process is equally thoughtful; there are no tools required. You simply clip them onto the OEM anchors, and the bottom features anti-slip studs that bite into the factory carpet fibers. This ensures the mat stays immovable even when you are slamming the doors or accelerating quickly. Cleaning is as simple as removing the mat and hosing it down, washing away grime in seconds without scrubbing.

However, this product is not for everyone. It is strictly a 3-piece floor mat set. It does not cover the trunk, the front storage (frunk), or the back of the seats. If you have pets that jump into the back or frequently carry large loads that slide around the cargo area, this set will leave those zones exposed. If you own a 2024 Model Y, this is likely your best bet for floor protection, but you must accept that you are buying a floor-only solution. It is also not designed for the Premium or Performance trims if they differ significantly in floor layout, so verifying your specific trim against the "Not Fit Premium or Performance" note is essential before purchasing.
The SUPER LINER 12PCS targets a very different buyer: the owner of the next-generation Tesla Model Y Juniper (2025–2026) who wants total interior preservation. This is not just a floor mat; it is a comprehensive cabin protection system. The kit includes 9 pieces of floor and cargo liners plus a 3-piece sunshade set, totaling 12 components. The engineering here is tailored exclusively for the Juniper architecture, using precision 3D scanning to guarantee a zero-gap fit that avoids blocking pedals, vents, or interior sensors. This specificity is non-negotiable because the Juniper interior has undergone significant changes compared to previous years. If you have an older Model Y, this product will not work, no matter how much you want it.
What sets this apart from a standard floor mat set is the inclusion of the graphene sunshade kit. The two front and rear glass roof panels on the Model Y can turn the cabin into an oven. The SUPER LINER addresses this by integrating a dual-layer graphene shield that blocks maximum UV rays. This dramatically reduces cabin temperature and protects the interior trim from fading and cracking due to sun exposure. Beyond the windows, the 9-piece floor protection covers the front and rear floors, the cargo trunk, the frunk, and even the seat backs and door threshold guards. This level of coverage is ideal for families with kids, pet owners who track sand and hair everywhere, or anyone who transports equipment that might scratch the leather or plastic surfaces. The material itself is a non-toxic, high-density TPE that resists extreme heat, cracking, and pet claws. It also features shape-memory technology, which helps remove shipping creases so the mats lay flat immediately upon installation.
The trade-off with the SUPER LINER is its exclusivity. It is a high-specificity product designed only for the Juniper 2026–2027 lineup. It explicitly states it is not for the Standard range or older models. Furthermore, while the coverage is extensive, the price point (which you should verify on Amazon) reflects the complexity of the 12-piece kit and the specialized graphene technology. It is a premium investment for those who want to keep their new car looking pristine. The brand positions itself as building "premium interior protection systems" rather than just accessories, emphasizing long-lasting durability and responsive support. If you are one of the first to get the new Juniper, this kit offers a level of holistic protection that a standard floor mat simply cannot match.
• Best for Pedal Safety & Liquid Diversion → MICHELIN Vehicle Mat: The tire-tread-inspired channels are specifically designed to move liquid away from the pedals, a critical safety feature for winter driving.
• Best for Total Cabin Coverage → SUPER LINER 12PCS: With 12 pieces including frunk, trunk, and seat back guards, this is the only choice for complete interior shielding.
• Best for Sun Protection → SUPER LINER 12PCS: The included graphene sunshades actively reduce cabin heat and block UV rays, a feature completely absent from the MICHELIN set.
• Best for Older Gen Models (2020-2025) → MICHELIN Vehicle Mat: The blue laser scanning is calibrated for the current Model Y geometry, whereas SUPER LINER is strictly for the 2026+ Juniper.
• Best for Pet Owners → SUPER LINER 12PCS: The inclusion of seat back guards and door thresholds provides extra protection against claws and dirt that a floor-only mat misses.
• Best for Easy Maintenance → Both: Both utilize TPE materials that can be hosed down, but the modular nature of the 12-piece set allows for cleaning individual sections like the frunk liner separately.
• Best for Precision Fit on Current Models → MICHELIN Vehicle Mat: The claim of 10x higher precision via blue laser scanning suggests a tighter seal for the existing floor pan contours.
• Best for Future-Proofing Your New Car → SUPER LINER 12PCS: If you just bought a 2026 Juniper, this is the only option that fits the new sensor and vent layouts correctly.
In my opinion, the right choice depends entirely on the year of your vehicle, but if I were buying for a family preparing for a bike rack adventure, I would lean toward the SUPER LINER 12PCS for the new Juniper owner. The sheer utility of having a frunk liner, trunk guard, and sunshades included makes it a far more valuable asset for protecting a new car from the elements. The graphene sunshades alone justify the kit's existence for anyone parking under the sun daily. However, if you are holding onto a 2020–2025 Model Y, the MICHELIN Vehicle Mat is the superior technical choice for the floor. Its blue laser precision and liquid diversion channels offer a level of safety and containment that feels more engineered for active, wet conditions. Ultimately, do not try to force a fit where it doesn't belong; check your model year first, then buy the system that matches your specific interior geometry.
Only the MICHELIN Vehicle Mat is confirmed compatible with the 2020–2025 Model Y 5-seater. The SUPER LINER 12PCS is strictly designed for the 2025–2026 Juniper Model Y and will not fit older versions.
Yes, the SUPER LINER includes a 3-piece sunshade set made with dual-layer graphene specifically to block UV rays and reduce cabin temperature, which is a feature the MICHELIN floor mats do not offer.
Both products are made from high-density TPE and can be cleaned by removing them and hosing them down. The MICHELIN mats feature anti-slip studs for easy re-installation, while the SUPER LINER uses shape-memory technology to flatten out after removal.
Yes, the MICHELIN Vehicle Mat is engineered with advanced liquid management channels inspired by tire treads to divert mud and snow away from the pedals, making it highly effective for severe weather conditions.
