About me

Michele Gubello


I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Taxation, Welfare and Pensions team at the Economic and Social Research Institute, Dublin. I am also a visiting research fellow at Trinity College Dublin and a member of the Irish Euromod National Team.

I am an economist interested in human capital, social capital, socioeconomic inequality and preferences for redistribution. In my research, I combine economic theory, micro-econometric analysis and microsimulation techniques to study topics at the intersection of public economics, inequality, socioeconomics and political economy. 

I hold a PhD in economics from University College Dublin under the joint supervision of Prof. Benjamin Elsner and Dr Sarah Parlane. I also hold a BA in Economics from Ca'Foscari University of Venice and a joint MSc-Erasmus Mundus in Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics (QEM) from University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and Ca'Foscari University of Venice.
