Michal Lahav - I practice, teach, and live with a great enthusiasm for movement. In my classes you will flow dynamically, breathe fully, and sweat-- all grounded in a foundation of deep listening to your body and a powerful and intelligent breath. I offer options for a spectrum of bodies and yoga experience.
My practice of yoga stems from a curiosity about the moving body and how to keep it feeling good! I'm a survivor of a few serious medical adventures, and that has only served to inform my curiosity, grow the awareness I bring to my practice and expand my outlook of what is possible. I am interested (and constantly exploring) sustainable, nourishing movement practices.
My background is in Neuroscience, Physiology and Behavior. This has fed into my career as a researcher, a dancer and a mom. I have been teaching movement since 2004. Amongst my many influences-- those I have stolen, borrowed or been heavily inspired by are teachers such as Katerina Wen, Misha Kellner-Rogers, Forrest ('08 teacher training), Rusty Wells ('09 teacher training), and everyone who has ever demonstrated patience and exquisite kindness.
