Week 1 (January 12-16): 1.1-1.3. Systems of equations and their connection to matrices. Solving a system of equations. Row reduction and echelon forms. Vector and matrix equations
Week 2 (Jan 19-23): no class Monday, 1.3-1.5. Vectors and vector equations, the matrix equation Ax=b, solution sets of linear systems
Week 3 (Jan 26-30): 1.5 and 1.7. Solution sets of linear systems , linear independence. Homework 1 due and quiz on Monday.

Week 4 (Feb 2-6): 1.7 and 1.8. Linear dependence and independence, linear transformations. Homework 2 due and quiz on Monday.
Definitions you should know for the quiz: linear combination, span, the definition of multiplication of a matrix and a column vector, homogeneous, trivial and nontrivial solution
Week 5 (Feb 9-13): 1.8, 1.9, 2.1: linear transformations, the matrix of a linear transformation and properties of functions, matrix operations
