Botox® is a procedure that uses Botulinum Toxin to treat the visible signs of aging by reducing or removing wrinkles.
The procedure is regarded as a safe and effective method of treating aging skin.
Botox® injections are commonly used to treat horizontal forehead furrows, vertical lines between the brows, and "crow's feet" around the eyes.
Botox® has proven to be an excellent non-surgical method of facial rejuvenation, capable of producing dramatic improvements in your appearance.
Excessive wrinkles on the face.
Large creases or furrows in your brow.
Small wrinkles, also known as "crow's feet," appear around your eyes.
A horizontal "frown line" between your brows.
Procedure in General
The wrinkle-related facial muscles beneath the skin are altered during the procedure.
Prior to treatment, a local anesthetic cream will be applied to your skin, and ice will be applied immediately after the Botox® treatment.
A small amount of Botox® is usually injected into the wrinkle.
Botox® works by blocking nerve impulses to the facial muscles, causing them to relax.
As a result, the underlying facial muscles relax and the skin smoothes out.
The effects of a Botox® treatment will last for three to six months, at which point the patient may choose to repeat the procedure.
Patients typically resume their normal activities immediately following the procedure; however, adhering to the post-procedure guidelines will significantly shorten and intensify the recovery period.
Patients should avoid heavy physical activity or lying down flat for at least 4 hours after the injections.
It is also recommended that you refrain from rubbing or massaging the injected area for at least 24 hours.
