Medicine Hat’s Strategic Plan is meant to guide responsible, forward-thinking leadership, but many residents have voiced concerns about how effectively it’s being followed. While no council is perfect, accountability matters.

As your City Councillor, I will listen to you, learn from past missteps, and work collaboratively with fellow councillors, city staff, and community stakeholders to ensure the goals of the Strategic Plan are upheld, not just in words, but in action. Together, we can build a stronger, more transparent, and responsive City Hall.

The City of Medicine Hat continues to produce strong results through its ongoing projects and strategic investments, many of which reflect the priorities and values of our community. The Annual Report outlines key initiatives and progress made in recent years, and it's clear that our city has been active and forward-thinking in many areas.

At the same time, it's important to acknowledge that not every project has aligned with what all citizens feel makes Medicine Hat a better place. I believe in accountability and open dialogue, and I'm here to listen. If there are projects or investments you feel didn’t reflect the best use of public money or resources, I want to hear your feedback. Together, we can ensure that future decisions reflect your voice and our shared priorities.

The 2024 Community Survey highlights important concerns shared by many residents, particularly around affordability, poverty and homelessness, and perceptions of city leadership. These voices matter.

As your council candidate, I take these concerns seriously. While some of these challenges, such as economic conditions and housing insecurity, extend beyond the powers of municipal government, that doesn't mean we stand by. I will bring compassion, accountability, and a commitment to action, listening to your voice and working collaboratively with fellow council members, service providers, and all levels of government to find meaningful, community-first solutions.
