I am a Data Scientist at S Rating und Risikosysteme GmbH, digging into complex data sets trying to optimize a recommender system used by German Sparkasse. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Plön. I was using mathematical models to understand the ecology and evolution of communities. Particularly, I explored how communities respond to environmental variability, as well as the mechanisms that determine persistence of populations. I did my PhD in theoretical ecology at University of Potsdam where I was investigating diversity maintenance in predator-prey systems. More recently, I was transferring this experience to disease ecosystems (cancer or bacterial infections). Specifically, I was investigating the interaction between the immune system and leukemia under specific treatment types, as well as the initial dynamics in urinary tract infections.
