My name is Dr. Michael L. Crowell and I have been instructing Spanish for 17 years. I have taught students from as young as infant all the way through the collegiate level as well as led professional development for my peers in schools and universities around the St. Louis Metropolitan and Midwest region. I've presented at the local, state, regional, and national level on best practices for world language study and am constantly evolving & enhancing my craft.
In my free time I love to travel and practice my Spanish as well as learn other languages. I'm currently working on my Italian in hopes of purchasing a vacation home in Tuscany. I also travel quite often with students and have take 8 trips with students to Costa Rica, Peru, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France.
I own a real estate company and additionally my first business which was a brewery/restaurant in O'Fallon, MO that opened in March 2019. In 2022 we expanded our operations to the Lake of the Ozarks, specifically in Camdenton, MO. This summer, I started a Hydroponic Greenhouse with the hopes of producing grapes by 2028.
My style of teaching is unique. It's focus is on the individual learning, self-paced, and is particularly focus on the backwards design model of education as well as the flipped/blended learning model. The entire backbone of which is constructed using Bloom's Taxonomy.

Where have I been?
This map shows not only where I've traveled generally speaking, but also where my students have traveled with me. I made sure to put almost all the sites that we saw while traveling, but I know I missed some!
