Hello! My name is Michael Wills, and I'm a 3rd year PhD candidate at the University of Virginia, advised by Evangelia Gazaki. I am interested in arithmetic geometry, both motivated and peeved by the negative solution to Hilbert's 10th problem. I'm currently working on local-to-global problems for zero-cycles.

Previously, I was at Virginia Tech working with Gretchen Matthews on problems in coding theory and with Travis Morrison on problems related to isogeny-based cryptography.

While not doing math, I enjoy reading, good food, and walking (usually with a podcast; current favorites are This Podcast Will Kill You and The History of English).
