Research Proposal: The Economics of Religious Philosophy in Consumption (2022)
This dissertation will analyze the economic concept of consumption through the lens of religious philosophy. A theoretical model will be introduced to demonstrate how consumption is a function of 14 bodily senses in contact with five sense objects and five divisions of activities. A construct known as the Three Modes of Material Nature is introduced to designate consumption patterns and personality types. Finally, causal analysis using the German Family Panel pairfam data will be performed to test the (general) hypos-thesis that consumption habits affect personality types.
The Influence of Campaign Financing on Bill-Sponsorship (2016)
A data frame is created to represent economic dependence between industry and constituency. I regress, sponsored-bills, that special-interest groups oppose, on campaign contributions that advocate against the sponsor of opposed bills. Results are statistically significant at 6%. Finally, I regress sponsored-bills that special-interest groups support on campaign contributions from those same special interest groups finding that campaign contributions are significant (p < 0.01) in predicting the type of bills that legislators sponsor.
