Micah Bolton is a percussionist, educator, and conductor based in Kansas, currently serving as Director of Bands at Goddard High School. In this role, he leads the Symphonic Bands, Lion Pride Marching Band, basketball pep band, and the Goddard Percussion Group (2025 KPAS Performance Group, 2026 KMEA Performance Group). Additionally, Micah teaches beginning band at Challenger Intermediate School and provides instructional support at Goddard Middle School.
A dedicated member of KMEA, KBA, and PAS, Micah brings a well-rounded perspective to music education, shaped by his experience in both rural and urban environments. He studied percussion performance under Dean Kranzler and Andrew Slater and music education and conducting with Dr. Milton Allen, Dr. Shawn Knopp, and Dr. Rayvon TJ Moore.
As a sought-after adjudicator, private lessons instructor, and percussion coach, Micah has worked with numerous students across Kansas, while also maintaining an active performance schedule. He regularly performs with the Wichita Wind Symphony and collaborates with a variety of orchestras, choirs, wind bands, and brass ensembles.
Micah holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Friends University, where he was recognized as a Kansas Teacher of Promise. He resides in Wichita, KS with his wife, Madison, and their dog, Marilyn.
