In the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa, I research public formation through cultural heritage information systems from popular social-media platforms to community archives. I also teach courses in cultural metadata, LIS computing, and community archives, and serve on the advisory board of the online Walt Whitman Archive as well as the editorial board of the Journal of Library and Information Science Education.
