Miana Massey aspires to serve as a positive role model for the local and international community. As a multimedia journalist, she has gained progressive experience in entertainment, political, and traditional news outlets. A current reporter for WFTX-TV in Fort Myers, Miana reports and produces unique stories that shatter perceptions and push boundaries.
Miana served as 1 of 6 HBCU students selected to receive Chevrolet's 2019 Discover the Unexpected Journalism Fellowship and $10,000 scholarship. As a college associate for CNN and Fox News, Miana generated graphic and video elements, writes scripts, and practices reporting, and shadows nationally recognized correspondents on Capitol Hill and the U.S. State Department. She has acquired political experience as a legislative intern for Senator Bill Nelson. A quick and versatile learner, Miana also gained fast-paced entertainment experience interning for E! News during the summer of 2018, which enabled her to build mutually beneficial relationships and gain exposure to celebrities, politicians, and U.S. authorities. Additionally, the knowledge she has obtained from The Internet and Television Association has enabled her to drive traffic to online and television channels and track local and national competitors.
Miana hopes to serve as a voice to people who feel their voices have been lost. She understands that ambassadorship is relentless service and a push for change. Miana hopes to inspire young people that through faith, hard work, and dedication “we can move mountains.”
