Creating

To me, mathematics is not just about doing, it is about creating.

While most of the time creating comes in the form of doing research or teaching, I've also pursued various art projects over the years. Here are just a couple of things I've been working on.

Mathematical comics

Back in 2018, when I was teaching an IBL number theory course, I noticed something distinctive. My students could explain the individual steps of proofs and could give you a high level description of our route through number theory, but they were missing the mid-level narrative. Inspired by an RSA comic made by former Proof teacher (and fellow mathematician) Sachi Hashimoto, I started making a series of comics to go along with the course. The project has since expanded and I've included the results below.

DISCLAIMER: The project was initially started as a humorous, mildly educational addition to my classes. Sometimes the math is motivated in an unusual way (usually for plots reasons). Sometimes there are bizarre inside jokes. And sometimes there are typos. Read with generosity.
