Mia Smith

Hello! I'm Mia and I am currently a third year PhD student at the University of Michigan, studying algebraic combinatorics. I'm interested in electroid varieties, stratifications of the (type A/C/D) Grassmannian, matroids, and total positivity. My advisor is Thomas Lam.

I earned my Master's through the Marjorie Lee Browne Scholars Program in 2023. Before that, I was a math teacher at Proof School and a summer director at Canada/USA Mathcamp.
