The Mid-Hudson Teacher Center currently has two portable planetarium systems available for teachers to use with specific instruction. The older system (Starlab) works with either the smaller (silver) dome or the newer (black) walk-in dome. The new E-Planetarium/Discovery Dome can only be used with the larger (black) walk-in dome. Training is required before using any of this equipment.

NOTE: The new walk-in dome can be used with either system
but requires a minimum 12 foot high space.
The domes CANNOT come in contact with the wall or ceiling in the space that you plan instruction!
The Starlab is not available for use with any outside groups. It is exclusively for k-12 instruction. In order to borrow any of this equipment, you must have completed a training. Once you have completed the training you may sign up to borrow the Starlab by going to our Borrower's Agreement here.
