This website is design to guide and support students, their supervisors, and parents through the journey of personal discovery for all 10th graders
The MYP Personal Project's core mission is to empower students to engage in a self-directed, in-depth inquiry, fostering the development of the Approaches to Learning skills and attributes for lifelong learning. It allows students to consolidate their learning throughout the IB Middle Years Programme by encouraging them to explore personal interests, develop a project, and reflect on their learning journey.
The MYP Personal Project is a required major assignment that 10th grade students complete at the end of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). It is a chance for students to explore something they're passionate about and turn it into a meaningful, long-term project.
The students choose a topic they care about or are interested in exploring. It can be anything from creating a clothing line, writing a book, building a website, conducting an experiment, starting a business, creating a short film, spearheading a community service event, or learning to fly solo.
With the guidance of an adult supervisor, they:
Set a learning goal
Research their topic
Document their learning process
Create a product or outcome
Reflect on their learning process and personal discovery through a written report
The Personal Project Rubric will guide students on how they will be assessed on their personal project
