Welcome to my website! I am Mao-hong Lin, Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Criminology, National Taipei University, where I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Chinese and English. I also serve on the editorial board of Modern Criminal Law Review.

My research interests center on the comparative, socio-legal, and empirical analysis of criminal law. Specifically, I focus on the relationship between criminal law and the political-economic structure of society, the role of technological innovation in driving the evolution of criminal law, and the interactions among different criminal legal systems at both transnational and international levels. My work can be found under Publications and Conferences.

I received my doctoral and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. I also hold a masters and a bachelor’s degree in law from National Taiwan University. Prior to joining academia, I practiced law in Taiwan, specializing in criminal defense and takeover contests. Further details are available in my CV.

Aside from research and teaching, I enjoy traveling, swimming, and biking. Feel free to contact me via email, follow me on X or LinkedIn, or check out my publications on Google Scholar. I would be happy to connect, preferably over coffee or by the beach!
