Welcome to my website! I am Mao-hong Lin, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Criminology, National Taipei University, where I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Chinese and English. I also serve on the editorial board of Modern Criminal Law Review and the board of trustees of the Asian Law and Society Association.

My research centers on comparative, socio-legal, and empirical analysis of criminal law. Specifically, I focus on the relationship between criminal law and the political-economic structure of society, how technological innovation shapes the changes in criminal law, and the interactions between criminal law and human rights. In my research, I draw on both quantitative and qualitative methods. Please visit Publications and Conferences for more details. 

I received my doctoral and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. I also hold a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in law from National Taiwan University. Prior to joining academia, I practiced law in Taiwan, specializing in criminal defense and takeover contests. Further details are available in my CV.
