Codon Corps is a pioneering community lab in Pakistan. My responsibilities as founder & CEO included designing and implementation of the strategies for overall lab training program development and overseeing the R&D section.
Global Community Bio Fellows Program is a fellowship program supported by MIT Community Bio initiative and led by Dr. David Sun Kong. It focuses on providing leadership training and peer support for emerging leaders in DIYBio community. The program started off in May 2019 and concluded in October 2019.
An year long fellowship program by Health Security Partners (HSP) focusing on biosafety, biosecurity, and dual-use of research concern (DURC) in Pakistan.
I participated in the program from June 2018 to June 2019 that focused on virtual training as well as a week-long fellowship project development held Baku, Azerbaijan in July, 2018.
iGEM team Peshawar was the only iGEM team in 2017 to represent Pakistan at the International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) competition held in Boston, United States. We bagged silver medal and were nominated for Best Biosafety Award.
I along with the team worked on development of a bioreporter fish that would change its color in response to six heavy metals. A bacteria-based proof-of-concept was developed.
As a summer intern at NIGAB, I worked on small-scale projects involving molecular biology and plant biotechnology.
During my sophomore year at Intl Islamic University in 2016, I interned virtually at Biology Decoded in summer. The internship focused on science journalism and scientific communication with specific training in technical writings.
During summer of 2016, I accepted an internship position at Infectious Diseases Lab, IIUI. I worked on how non-coding RNAs can contribute to cancer and aid in early diagnosis especially in the context of lung cancer.
