Where there is love there is no fear.
For love makes fear disappear.
Fear knocked on the door.
And love answered.
So no one was there
Therefore I vow
to meet my fear with love
So that it disappear
Until I realize
the fullness of love
Here and now
And everywhere.
We align ourselves with three points of energy:
(1) Local community of Mfuleni
(2) Two Renzai Zen Communities: www.choseizen.org & www.zenpeacemakers.org
(3) Unitarian Free Christian Community: www.capetownunitarians.org
With Zen Peacemakers we aim to realize oneness and relieve suffering through contemplative social action.
With Chõseizen we aim to train rigorously in zazen and innovative zen practices to explore our breathing, posture and senses so that compassion will be available to us under the extreme conditions of life. For us compassion is firstly the taking away of fear and secondly to facilitate authentic connection or love.
With Unitarians we aim to give expression to the saying: "we do not have to think alike or be alike to love alike". Therefore we practice to overcome our fears and prejudices so that we can stand on the side of love, enhance our capacity to love more deeply and be more inclusive. We also commit ourselves to honoring the inherent worth and dignity to every living and breathing being.
